Update #7
Rear Avon GP Tire Mounted
In addition to Bernd's rear wheel, a large parts order has arrived from the Vincent Owners' Club Spares company (this company, owned by the Vincent Club members, manufactures or supplies every single part to build a complete Vincent and once built a complete Black Shadow totally from its own parts supply just to prove they could do it) so I will now get to finish off a lot of bits and pieces that were standing waiting. But before I do that I have mounted an Avon GP tire onto Bernd's rear wheel and installed it into the RFM and verified everything fits and lines up.

Update #8
Factory Racing Exhaust Pipes and Progress on Small Details
|
I have removed the 1 5/8" diameter factory racing short circuit exhaust pipes that I had temporarily fitted, installed the seat and cleaned up all my yellow post-it notes into final short lists of things to complete. However, what isn't as obvious is the progress I have made in finalizing a multitude of small items on the bike. . .
|
Such as: I picked up a number of my small items painted black from Connery's and mounted them, including the headlight and brackets, enabling me to finalize the wiring which all joins up in the headlight. I always draw my own wiring diagram and only use black wires to make them less obvious. I also make and solder my own cables - so another job done, allowing me to hook up the throttles, air valves and magneto advance. I also finished off the high-low beam switch, instrument lights, horn, magneto kill button, ignition wires & plug caps, and master switches, and finalized the tachometer and speedometer drives and cables.

Update # 9
Installing the Alton AC Generator and Amal 10TT9 Racing Carbs
|
One big item that I was happy to get completed was the electric starter installation, along with the Alton 12 volt AC generator and regulator. I also completed all the oil lines, fuel lines, and breather lines but I'm waiting for correct size clamps to finish.
|
Finally, I dismantled the 32mm Amal 10TT9 racing carbs, checked all jetting and reinstalled onto the unique Black Lightning manifold stubs then made sure the throttle action was complete and smooth.
